The History of LinkWorld - Mt. Signal

Mt Signal is a major landmark for the Imperial County and is the primary landmark that unifies the Borderlink Project. Whether in the hills, valleys, or the flat agricultural land you see here, Mt. Signal stands above the landscape in quiet majesty.

The landscape and flora of the Mt. Signal area was modeled from images taken by Carol Kerney, and from images drawn from UC Berkeley's CalPhoto database (part of UCB's Digital Library Project). Since the designers of LinkWorld were located in the U.K., all of the information needed to be provided in photographs or on the web.

Specific landmarks such as haystacks and telephone poles bring this area to life, featuring the agricultural lands that surround Mt. Signal. The elevations in this area of LinkWorld are the most broad ranging, from the flat agricultural areas to the tall mountain in the distance.

This area of LinkWorld includes a small gallery with more images of Mt. Signal and a meeting room filled with resources where private sessions can take place between counselors, tutors, mentors and students from the Borderlink Project.
