Overview
Videoconferencing provides a powerful teaching platform that can provide students with valuable resources and experiences that are not currently part of the classroom. The Desert Alliance for Technology in Education, in partnership with the BorderLink Project, is seeking teachers that have a desire to use videoconferencing to connect and collaborate with others in innovative ways.
Purpose
The purpose of this program is to bring videoconferencing into the classroom to help reduce student/teacher isolation. Videoconferencing will allow classrooms to engage in learning activities with others, possibly in distant places, without having the time and cost of travel. Through videoconferencing, teachers and classrooms can connect with others in a variety of ways including teacher to teacher, classroom to classroom, student to student, classroom to experts, and other connections that have educational value.
